Elizabeth City, NC- The Regent Royals men's basketball team beat Mid-Atlantic Christian University 69-65 on Tuesday, January 25th. The Royals came out of the half down nine but scorched the nets in the final period shooting 63% from the floor and going 7-9 from deep to pull off the comeback win.
Royal Standouts-
Senior Andrew Walston had a career-high 19 points, knocking down shots from all over the floor, including an impressive 4-7 from behind the arch.
Junior Khalil Waleed was huge for the Royals in his first game of the season, playing exemplary defense while running the offense to finish with a game-high four assists.
Games Notes-
With tonight's win, the Royals split the season series with MACU at 1-1 and picked up their first-ever Eastern Metro Athletic Conference victory.
Team Notes-
The Royals move to 1-2 in conference play and 3-10 overall as they prepare to take on NCAA Division III Mary Washington University this Friday, January 28th.
